Thekkinkadu Maidan (Thekkinkadu Maidanam) is the 65-acre hillock at the centre of Thrissur, seating Vadakkunnathan Temple and hosting Thrissur Pooram. Swaraj Round rings the maidan. For thirty-six hours each Pooram, the ground fills with people, elephants, and percussion.
